The National Economic and Development Authority, Region X and the Department of Foreign Affairs announce the selection of nominees for the 2007 Training Programme for Youth Leaders.  The programme, administered by the Japan International Cooperation Agency, is  extended by the government of Japan to promote human resource development for the Philippines.  The program aims to provide young leaders with opportunities to develop their specialized knowledge and skills in Japan, and to contribute to the promotion of mutual understanding and friendship.

On May 29-30, the Regional Development Council 10 (RDC-10) Executive Committee spent two full days reviewing  the proposed FY 2008 budgets of 19 regional line agencies, one government owned and controlled corporation,  and eight (8) state universities and colleges (SUCs)  in the region.   Mr. Arsenio Sebastian, the Vice Chair for the Private Sector Representatives, presided over the meeting and was assisted by the Secretary of the RDC,  NEDA Assistant Regional Director Ro-Ann A. Bacal.
